Research
There has been much research interest in hypnosis and related
phenomena in recent times. More high quality scientific research is being
done in this field today than ever before. These links go to sites where
you can explore numerous studies.
This first link http://nccam.nih.gov goes to The
National Institutes of Health - National Center for Complimentary and
Alternative Medicine (NIH-NCCAM). For the latest NIH-NCCAM research on
hypnosis type "hypnosis" in the search box.
This next link goes to a pdf file created by Dr. Alberto
Torelli. It presents over 1,700 abstracts of recent scientific work on
hypnosis from around the world. This link can be slow. But Dr. Torelli
has done a great job in compiling these references so be patient
This link goes to PubMed, a site run by the National Center for
Biotechnology Information (NCBI), U.S. National Library of
Medicine 8600 Rockville Pike, Bethesda MD, 20894 USA. Both the NCBI site
and the PubMed sites are great sites for searching out articles on all sorts of
research topics on medicine and biology amongst other stuff. For hypnosis
and hypnotherapy you can search both the general topics and also do more
specific searches, e.g. "hypnosis," "hypnotherapy,"
"hypnosis pain," "hypnosis stress." etc. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/
The Mayo Clinic http://www.mayoclinic.org/hypnosis/ does research
on Hypnosis. The following site gives an overview of their latest
findings. Start there, then follow the links, search "hypnosis"
or otherwise explore their site.
